Have a good day

I came out of the stairwell totally exhausted. At 4:13 p.m., after 5 hours of class and 2 hours of clinical observations, I was sick of sitting in a chair watching and listening to other people. As I made a break for the front doors of the Child Development Center, already visualizing myself sinking onto my couch, maybe making a smoothie, reading ... doing anything low stimulation and most importantly alone.
"HEY!" The little voice behind me was singsongy, energetic and the hand that I saw when I turned around was waving at warp speed, following closely behind by a big baby-tooth smile.
"Hi." My response to the little boy that had just come from the child center behind me was far from enthusiastic. I turned away so fast he probably didn't even see that I did actually crack a smile.
"HEY!!"
I turned again, still walking in a way that couldn't be classified as anything but brisk. The little boy had pulled his mom's arm to full length and was leaning his full weight forward, head tilted up, smiling. "HAVE A GOOD DAY!"
I stopped and turned around. As much as I wanted to hole up and pout about my long day, he made smiling inevitable.
"Thank you so much. You have a good day too."
He grinned and bounced around, heaving himself back toward his mom, skipping to catch up to her step. He didn't look back to see that I was still smiling.

Summer Pictures ... Good Days

Me and Brooke in autofoto mode

These were supposed to be the "sexy face" shots ... but obviously some people need to work on their sexy faces

Erin and Brooke

A little of all of us ... there's a better one but I just thought this was funny

Two good lookin puppies begging for attention

Sand is goooooood

Who couldn't love that face? ... that's Amanda (her mom, my cousin) sitting beside Mary Marshall

The newest addition to the family, Nathan ... he doesn't look like us but we'll let it slide bc he's really cute and has a natural mohawk ... it doesn't get much cooler than that.

sooo.. the whole kids with mohawks thing is blowing up at our church. scary. the pastor's kid got one, and his mom was like, "Zeke, you're gonna be so cool, because I bet none of your friends have mohawks." And he said, "I have friends that have mohawks!!!" And his mom was all, "Really? You do? Who?" And he says....

"Mr. Jimmy"

Yes. I rocked one for a little bit and have influenced the pastor's kids. Life is good.
