the rambling, the kids, the states, THE PARTY

(in my office)
So I want to "post" something bc its been a while and I just have lots of thoughts floating around in my head ... well more like whizzing around ... but I can't pinpoint anything to write and that's frustrating. Lot's has been going down and it's the end of summer and so that means lots of changes and its just all ... there. in my brain. and not coming out in writing somehow.

Change of subject.

Not that there was a subject. Ha.

I miss people ... like my friends from Charleston and not from Charleston too. And I am leaving to go to Chile (which isn't in the United States and isn't in North Carolina ... quick story ... so I'm sitting on the floor in my "office" cutting out big construction paper stop signs and slow children playing signs for Ramblin' Road Rally VBS. My back was really hurting because I didn't have anything to lean on and I was twisting my back when Addison popped his head in.
"Hi Mamie." His smile probably hurt his cheeks it was so big, showing every tooth on top and bottom except in the front where he's missing one.
"Hi Addison! What are you doing here?"
"My mom's decorating downstairs and I came to see what you are doing." He bounced down onto his knees and put his elbows forward on the floor to watch me cutting.
"Well, I'm making decorations for your mom." I picked up each sign for him to see.
"Oh. Where do you live?" His voice didn't seem to register the fact that this question was completely unrelated to the statement before it.
"Umm, well, while I'm here I staying with Ed and Nelda Cockman. Do you know them?"
"No ... so you don't have your own house." Ha! I forgot how 20 years old seems when you're 7.
"No. Well, I mean, my parents have a house in Lancaster just like your parents have here and that is my house. But when I'm at school I live in Charleston. And this year I am going to live in Chile for a while."
"Chile? Where is that? That's not in North Carolina is it?" His geography made me laugh even though it slightly reminded me of my own geographic knowledge. I explained to him that, no,
Chile isn't even in the United States. I drew a map to show him every place I had lived: Salisbury, Lancaster, Charleston, Cocoa Beach and now Chile. He was impressed.
"Whoa, I've only been to North Carolina and South Carolina. Oh yeah and Georgia because my aunt lives in Georgia. Oh and I went to Tennessee once ... is that in North Carolina?"
"No Addison that is not in North Carolina."
End of Story ... haha ... sorry that was a long break but I love Addison.) So like I said I'm leaving to go to Chile. So I thought in honor I should throw myself (and megyn and Katie) a going away party! And YOU are invited! There's been word of this party floating about I think but I'm gonna give you the real details (which are subject to change if I think of something cooler).

PARTY DETAILS:
When: August 24th at like dusk time so whenever that is .. really just whenever
Where: Waterfront park
What to expect: Um i want there to be food and there will be fun and if you bring a ball there will be a ball and there will be picnic blankets for eating and lounging and enjoying each others company. And there will be live music.
What to bring: Yourself and other cool people that you know. If you wanted to bring food or other entertainment you could. And you could wear a bathing suit because there is a fountain to play in. I'm serious about that.

*** Megyn, Katie and I fly out the next day so we really would love to see anyone and everyone so mark your calendars, take off work, tell your significant other your date is off, book a flight, skip a class, do whatever you can to BE THERE!

Yeah so if that didn't clear up some questions just call me and I'll tell you you're an idiot .. i mean tell you more.
